Fresh Growth

The Fresh Growth program is a capacity-building institute, designed to help nonprofit organizations learn to help themselves, rather than becoming dependent on their consultant support. We offer this program to nonprofit organizations on an open basis as funding becomes available, or to the grantees of specific funders or other targeted audiences as we receive funding to do so.

The program is designed for those working in the nonprofit sector in executive capacities, including management, administration, program and development. The program model includes workshops, individual consultations, and the use of empowerment and coaching techniques.

Developing Leadership and Management Skills
The objectives of the Fresh Growth Capacity-Building Institute include:

Leadership and Organizational Development

Developing an understanding of leadership and the empowerment process

Developing an approach to employee and organizational wellness through coaching

Developing and providing management, administrative and programmatic leadership

Financial Development

Understanding and assessing the financial health of the fellow’s organization

Developing a strategic fundraising plan

Technology as a Management Tool

Strategies for sustainability and growth

The participatory and interactive format promotes practical application of the course content to the agency setting. In addition to teaching a wide array of managerial, financial and technical tools, Fresh Growth will foster important connections between its fellows through its small group meetings and alumni programs.

Capacity-Building Curriculum
The institute will include workshops in:

Organizational leadership and development, including board development, strategic planning and management

Program development, including program evaluation

Financial management

Technology

Each of the workshops will offer valuable insight from top professionals in the field, interactive learning, exciting exercises that apply the lesson to each member’s own situation, and worksheets and resources for additional information.

Each Fresh Growth fellow will receive customized sessions with a consultant, on-site at their organization to help them apply the lessons they've learned.

The semester will end with the Fresh Growth fellows regrouping for final sessions to synthesize what has been learned and how it has worked in action.
