Leadership & Organizational Development
The passion of nonprofit leaders is an incredibly powerful force. It becomes even stronger when it is reinforced with core leadership and organizational skills.
The NonProfit HelpDesk provides a full range of services to build the leadership and organizational capacity of nonprofit organizations, with a special focus on small to medium-sized organizations. Organizations funded by the Department of Youth and Community Development may receive these services at no cost when their request for technical assistance is approved by DYCD.
An Action Plan to Address Key Organizational Issues
Our DYCD projects start with an organizational assessment with a focus on key issues that leadership would like to see addressed. The assessment includes a review of documents, interviews with key staff and board members, an overview of operations and services, and a report that documents the agency's strengths and growth opportunities. An action plan details the steps to be taken to resolve identified issues.
Among the issues that may be addressed are:
Board and leadership development
Creating a mission and vision statement
Governance
Ethics, values and management
Developing a leadership credo and legacy
Strategic planning and thinking
Leading and managing change

Staff and management development

Cultural competence

PACT (Peer Advisory / Mastermind Groups)
Many of the biggest names in the corporate world turn to peer advisory groups (sometimes called mastermind groups) when making critical decisions. Now, NPHD brings this approach to the nonprofit world. Meet regularly with a professionally-facilitated community of nonprofit leaders to consult with each other, share experiences, guidance and support, and benefit from accountability.
